A church for people who don't like church? Why would you start something for the one group of people who aren’t interested in what you’re offering? The reality is that there are a lot of people who are looking for God and seeking a spiritual dimension to life, but just don’t want to go to church to find it.
And who can blame them? Most churches seem judgmental and holier than thou. They make you wear your Sunday best, play music from the 1800s, and are too into politics. So what if there was a church that flipped the script? A church where no perfect people were allowed, because there are no perfect people. A church that was about relationships, loving God, loving people, and serving. A church that was fun, relevant, and really made a difference in your life.
Welcome to Vintage City Church.
WHEN AND WHERE
If you want to check us out, we get together every Sunday morning at AMC in Hickory. What you’ll experience is not your typical church. You don’t need to dress up or put on a fake smile; just be yourself and we promise you’ll be comfortable. When we get together, we laugh, we learn, and we grow towards living a love-God, love-people, turn-the-world-upside-down kind of life.
Plan a Visit
If it's your first time at Vintage City Church, you are our honored guest.
We do church a little differently than other places, so here are a few questions to help you plan your trip.
+ Where do I go when I get there?
As you're walking to the building, you'll notice some people outside welcoming you. If you need help locating the auditorium, restrooms, or children's ministry area, just ask them - it's what they are there for! We’re a friendly bunch, and we’d love to serve you.
+ How long is the gathering?
Our gathering typically lasts about 65 minutes. We'll sing three to four songs and our Lead Pastor Crockett Davidson or a guest will speak.
If you’re visiting for the first time, you’ll want to give yourself a few extra minutes to stop by the New Here tent afterwards. You are a very important person to us! We’d love to meet you, answer any questions you may have, and give you a FREE gift.
+ What do you do for kids?
In CityKids, children 5th grade and younger experience Jesus on their level. CityKids is a safe, age-appropriate environment where kids have their own gathering with singing, a Bible lesson, and small group time.
+ What should I wear?
Don't feel like you have to dress up. Most people wear casual attire, but you are welcome to wear whatever makes you comfortable.
+ Can I attend if I'm [Fill in the blank]?
Fill in the blank with whatever fear you have about not being accepted: divorced, single parent, broke, recovering addict, gay, transgender, atheist, skeptic, etc. Everyone is welcome at Vintage City. So come as you are, and we’ll see you on Sunday!
