Valentines Day. Love is in the air...or is it? Let's face it. Many of us are single and ready to mingle, but there is no one in sight for us to hold onto on this beloved holiday. So what can you do? Here are some creative ways to celebrate Valentines Day as a single person:
Netflix anyone? Ahh Netflix. You'll never betray us. Netflix is always there for you and will never judge you. So cuddle up on your couch with a blanket, grab a pizza and some chocolates, and indulge yourself with The Office (Seasons 1-7 - it just wasn't the same after Michael left).
Eat at Chipotle. You know who won't be busy on Valentines Day? Chipotle. Chipotle is cheap, somewhat healthy, and quick so you can hurry back to Netflix.
Go see a movie. If you don't have Netflix (what are you doing with your life?) or you just want to get out of the house, why not go and see a movie? Sure, all the couples will be seeing Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but there are plenty of movies you can see without being reminded of love. Kung Fu Panda, while it seems childish, received an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes so I'm sure it's a great comedy. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is STILL in theaters if you can believe it and if you haven't seen it, you need to because...well...it's just the American thing to do. Zoolander 2 comes out this weekend but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
Regardless of how you spend your Valentines Day, there is one thing we can all hold onto - God still loves you. As cheesy as it may sound, it's a truth we all need reminded of. Your relationship status doesn't matter to God. God is more concerned with who you are than who you are with. He loves you regardless and His love is all that we need. No man or woman will ever be able to fill the spot God does and that love is the kind of love that is worth holding onto.
